#11 in Wired Earphones · Rated 4.4
Extended-response IEM with high isolation and accurate tone.
ER2XR is Etymotic’s extended-response, single-driver IEM designed for high-fidelity listening with excellent passive isolation. Built around a metal shell and a detachable cable, ER2XR emphasizes a flat-to-neutral response with a modest bass lift for a more natural low end without masking mids and treble. The cable is detachable for easy replacement or upgrading. It’s a widely favored choice for critical listening, mixing references, and audiophile-grade casual listening where a compact, low-fatigue design is desirable. In 2025, ER2XR remains widely available through the brand and authorized dealers, maintaining a strong reputation for measurement-accurate sound and reliable isolation.
