7-inch Google Assistant smart display with sleep sensing
Nest Hub (2nd Gen) is Google’s compact, camera-free smart display designed for bedrooms, kitchens, and desks. It leverages Google Assistant for hands-free control, casting, and smart-home management, plus Soli-based Sleep Sensing to help track sleep patterns and environment without an on-device camera. The device plays YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and other services via Chromecast, and integrates nicely with Google Photos for a photo-frame experience. It’s a strong pick for Google-centric households that want a simple, affordable, privacy-conscious display with reliable voice control and sleep insights. In 2025, frequent sales make it one of the most accessible smart displays in its class, while retention of key Google Assistant features keeps it competitive against competing ecosystems.
