ROG Ally (2023) – Windows handheld by ASUS
#4 in Portable Gaming · Rated 4.4
Windows handheld with Ryzen Z1 Extreme aimed at portable PC gaming.
ROG Ally is ASUS’ early-gen Windows handheld designed to play PC games on the go. It ships with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage in the common configuration, and ships with Windows 11 so players can run PC games, streaming services, and productivity apps in a portable form factor. The Ally is notable for its compact design, robust cooling, and a user-friendly Armoury Crate SE interface that helps manage games, drivers, and performance. It targets PC gamers who want a portable alternative to a laptop and who value a familiar Windows environment. While not as powerful as larger Windows handhelds, the Ally remains a popular, affordable option with broad regional availability and an active modding/driver-support scene.
