macOS Sonoma
#2 in Operating System · Rated 4.7
Apple's desktop OS with widgets and Continuity
macOS Sonoma is Apple’s latest desktop operating system iteration, delivering a more personalized desktop with interactive widgets, a refreshed design, improved gaming performance via Game Mode, and deeper Continuity with iPhone devices. It tightens security and privacy, enhances Safari, Messages, and Notes, and adds features like on-device intelligence and seamless handoff across Apple devices. Sonoma emphasizes a cohesive Apple ecosystem experience, with robust performance on Apple Silicon Macs and broad support for creative and professional workflows. While offering deep integration with Apple services, Sonoma remains best for users already invested in the Apple hardware and software ecosystem. For non-Apple workflows, some third-party apps may not integrate as seamlessly as on Windows or Linux distributions, which is an important consideration.
