IKEA Micke Desk (41 3/8x19 5/8") in Black-Brown
#1 in Compact/Student Desks · Rated 4.5
Compact, cable-managed desk ideal for dorms and small spaces.
IKEA's Micke Desk is a compact, straight-edged workstation designed for tight rooms, dorms, and small apartments. With a footprint around 41 inches wide, it fits laptops, monitors, and essential study gear without crowding the room. The back of the desk is finished, allowing it to sit away from walls while still looking complete, and a built-in cable outlet helps keep cords out of sight. The Micke series is known for modular expandability, meaning you can pair it with add-on drawers or storage to suit evolving needs. This desk is particularly popular among students and renters thanks to its low price, clean Scandinavian design, and straightforward assembly. It’s best for light- to moderate-usage tasks such as writing, coding, and light multitasking. A standout differentiator is the combination of affordable price and cable management in a minimal, ready-to-place package, which makes it a staple in many dorm-room setups. However, it does not offer height adjustment and has a relatively small surface area for multi-monitor setups. Source: IKEA Micke product page.
